On March 31st 2022, the Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton officially opened HID Global’s new centre of excellence in Galway, where HID plan to hire 500 staff to join their existing 250 employees in Ireland, with the number expected to be 300 by the end of this year. HID Globals growth plans build on their presence in Ireland since 2006 and their expansion in manufacturing, R&D, supply chain customer service. IT and Human Resources in Galway.

The new centre is a massive 7,980 sqm and gives HID the capacity to grow in Galway, along side their ambitious plans with the facility allowing HID Global to improve efficiencies across operations and continue to deliver for a growing customer base across the world.

The new Mervue facility was also designed with sustainability in mind, ensuring that all elements of the building design play a role in supporting HID’s goal of becoming a net zero company by 2050, which demonstrates HIDs ethical commitment.
